Things to Do on the OBX for October 4th 2024

Good morning from the Outer Banks! 🌤️ For today’s "OBX Things To-Do" on October 4, 2024, Manteo is enjoying mostly sunny skies with a high near 75°F. Winds will be from the northeast at 9 to 11 mph, with gusts reaching up to 17 mph, creating a gentle breeze along the coast. Tonight, the temperature will drop to a low of around 63°F, and skies will be partly cloudy, making for a cool and comfortable evening.

If you’re heading to the beach, be aware of a Beach Hazards Statement in effect until 8 PM tonight, due to strong rip currents. Make sure to stay safe if you’re planning any water activities today.

As for the water temperature, it is currently a pleasant 75°F—ideal for those looking to enjoy a dip or some light water sports. And if you’re thinking ahead, there are 88 days left until New Year's Eve, which is a great time to experience the OBX. The local celebrations, beautiful winter beach scenery, and welcoming atmosphere make it a wonderful place to ring in the New Year.

While you’re here, why not indulge in the local cuisine? Grab a bite at one of the best burger spots, treat yourself to the best ice cream, or enjoy a sweet treat from one of the top bakeries in the OBX. If you’re in the mood for something heartier, check out the best places for steak in the area!

Enjoy your day and make the most of everything the Outer Banks has to offer!
