Things to Do on the OBX for October 28th 2024
Good morning, OBX fans! 🌞
Today, October 28, 2024, Manteo is enjoying mostly sunny skies with a high near 69°F. Northeast winds at around 8 mph will make for a calm, enjoyable day. Tonight, temperatures will drop to a comfortable 60°F, perfect for a clear, crisp evening. While beach conditions are mostly clear, be mindful of any remaining surf advisories if you’re near the water.
In the spirit of Halloween, Manteo’s Downtown Social District has transformed into Halloween Island, a 13-night event running until October 31. Halloween Island offers a unique “trick-or-treating for adults” experience, where visitors can enjoy Halloween-themed drinks, treats, and decorations across multiple local venues. Key spots to visit include Lost Colony Tavern, Ortega’z, and Outer Banks Distilling, where festive drinks and spooky decor are all part of the Halloween Island experience, making Manteo the perfect place to celebrate Halloween this year.
With just 3 days until Halloween, it’s also a great time to plan your family-friendly Outer Banks getaway. The OBX is ideal for family vacations with activities for all ages. Whether it’s exploring the top rainy-day activities for kids, trying the best water activities, or indulging in treats at the best ice cream spots, the Outer Banks has something for everyone. Compared to destinations like the Jersey Shore, the OBX provides a unique mix of natural beauty, family-friendly activities, and a relaxed vibe, making it the perfect getaway.
Enjoy today’s beautiful weather, and make the most of this spooky season on the Outer Banks!
