Things to Do on the OBX for October 26th 2024
On October 26, 2024, Manteo will enjoy sunny skies with a comfortable high of around 71°F and a light breeze shifting from the southwest. As evening arrives, temperatures will drop to 57°F under partly cloudy skies, creating a crisp, refreshing atmosphere for a night stroll or beach fire. Expect north winds at 14-18 mph, with occasional gusts up to 24 mph. A Beach Hazards Statement will be in effect on Sunday, so beachgoers should keep an eye out for water safety advisories over the weekend.
October continues to bring fantastic events to the Outer Banks, perfect for both locals and visitors. Just in time for Halloween, October 26 marks the annual Outer Banks Brewtag in Nags Head, where participants test their creativity by launching keg barrels in a unique take on the classic flight challenge. For those looking to immerse themselves in the season, the Pumpkin Patch at Island Farm in Manteo offers fall festivities with corn shucking, games, and ox-drawn wagon rides—ideal for family fun.
November in the Outer Banks is also a gem, featuring events like Manteo’s First Friday festival on November 1 and Festival Latino de Ocracoke from November 8-9, celebrating Latino culture with music, food, and family-friendly activities. As Thanksgiving nears, highlights include WinterLights at the Elizabethan Gardens, starting November 22, and the Hangin’ with Santa and Kites with Lights event in Nags Head on November 29-30. Santa will greet families while kites adorned with holiday lights fill the sky, creating a memorable coastal holiday display.
