Things to Do on the OBX for October 25th 2024
Today’s Outer Banks is basking in sunny skies, with a high of 68°F and calm afternoon winds—a perfect autumn day to enjoy the many seasonal activities the area has to offer. Tonight, the sky will be clear with a crisp low around 55°F, providing a beautiful backdrop for a quiet beach walk or stargazing session. If you’re heading to the shoreline, be mindful of the Beach Hazards Statement in effect until 8 PM.
November on the Outer Banks brings a wealth of unique local events that make this off-season visit a special one. Starting November 1, Manteo's First Friday festival will bring live music, food, and festivities to the streets, setting a lively tone for the month. Then, from November 8-9, head to Festival Latino de Ocracoke to experience the vibrant Latino community’s music, food, and art on Ocracoke Island.
The Outer Banks Marathon and Half Marathon on November 9-10 is perfect for runners and spectators alike, winding through scenic stretches of Kill Devil Hills and Manteo. Mid-month, WinterLights at the Elizabethan Gardens kicks off on November 22, inviting visitors to stroll through holiday light displays in a magical garden setting.
As Thanksgiving approaches, don’t miss the family-friendly Hangin’ with Santa and Kites with Lights event in Nags Head on November 29-30. Santa will be on hand for holiday photos, and as evening falls, watch illuminated kites soaring over Jockey’s Ridge State Park—a dazzling blend of seasonal cheer and coastal charm.
