The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Manteo, NC, in effect until 7:00 PM tonight.

Expect temperatures to soar to around 91°F, but with the heat index, it will feel closer to a scorching 105°F. Be sure to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and take frequent breaks in the shade or indoors if you’re spending time outside today.

While it’s a perfect day for the beach, please remember to pace yourself and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak hours. With Labor Day Weekend just around the corner, it’s a great time to enjoy those final summer moments, but safety first!
