St. Patrick's Day Weekend Beer Mile at the Outer Banks
This St. Patrick's Day, the Outer Banks Brewing Station is hosting an event that promises to be the highlight of your holiday weekend: a Leprechaun-themed Beer Mile! Scheduled for Saturday, March 16th, 2024, it's not just a race; it's a celebration of fun, endurance, and, of course, beer. Here's everything you need to know about joining the festivities.
The Event
Date & Time: The beer mile kicks off at 2 PM on Saturday, March 16th, 2024. Mark your calendars and make sure to check in between 1 PM and 1:45 PM on event day.
Location: The Outer Banks Brewing Station, located at 600 S. Croatan Hwy, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948, is not just a venue; it's the start and finish line of your unforgettable St. Patrick's Day adventure.
What to Expect
The Beer Mile is a test of both your running prowess and your ability to enjoy a beer (or four). Participants will tackle a mile-long course, with a beer to be enjoyed every quarter mile. The beverages are 10 oz, perfectly sized for both enjoyment and the challenge ahead.
But it's not all about the race. After crossing the finish line, enjoy a backyard party atmosphere with live music, great food, and even better company. Your registration includes chip timing, a commemorative T-shirt, and, of course, the beers for the race.
Competition & Prizes
For those with a competitive streak, there are prizes for the fastest male and female runners. So, if you're fleet of foot and stout of stomach, you could be going home with more than just a great story.
Don't forget to dress up! This year, we're judging the most creative costumes. Whether you're dressed as a leprechaun, a pot of gold, or anything else that screams St. Patrick's Day, you could win big for your creativity.
Registration
The event is capped at 100 participants, ensuring a fun and safe experience for everyone involved. Registration is $45, and you can sign up online or opt for walk-up registration on the day of the event. Secure your spot early to guarantee your place at the starting line.
