OBX Polar Plunge 2025

The Outer Banks (OBX) Polar Plunge is a fun annual tradition where participants take a daring leap into the chilly Atlantic waters of the OBX—all in support of Special Olympics.

Whether you're a seasoned "plunger" or a first-time thrill-seeker, this event is the perfect way to embrace the Outer Banks' adventurous spirit while supporting a great cause.

This year’s Polar Plunge is set for Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head. Festivities begin at 9:00 AM EST, with the plunge itself taking place at 10:00 AM.

Participants can register individually or as part of a team, with all proceeds benefiting Special Olympics athletes across Dare County. Participating in the OBX Polar Plunge requires a minimum fundraising amount of $50 per individual.
